I purchased the Feel Cool Matress Pad off the internet for my Tempurpedic matress. Initially the effects were absolutely wonderful, beyond my expectations and I was very pleased with my investment… and then I washed it. It was washed in cold water and hung to dry, but the backing had fallen apart. I assumed it was the inner “gel” part that would be the most important part of the functioning of the matress pad, so I thought nothing of it. When I remade the bed I quickly realized the cooling effects had gone and that it would never work again. Out of desperation for a cooler nights sleep I tried to order a second one off the internet and once again have it shipped to Canada, but by now the Feel Cool mattress pad was no longer available… anywhere. I decided to order a similar matress pad at a similar price point and vowed to myself to never wash it. I quickly found that the Librium, Outlast temperature regulating matress pad didn’t work at all! So now I’m close to $450 Canadian dollars out of pocket between the two purchases, taxes, international shipping and the duty I had to pay to get them into Canada. I was at my wits end with sleepless nights and feeling ripped off by both companies when it dawned on me “What if I layer them one under the other, would THAT stop the heat generated from my Tempurpedic mattress?” Very long story short, it worked! It took two of these matress pads layered one on top of the other to get them to work, but it did work! Finally, I slept cool last night for the first time in months! Would I recommend this product? Well, I suppose it depends on how desperate you are for a good nights sleep and how much money you’re willing to throw into it. I have never slept as well as I do on a gel matress pad. It would be nice if they could sort out their issues with the quality of the product in terms of wash ability, sort out their distribution issues, and make their customer service department more readily available to their customers.
