If you’ve been looking for a way to get more out of your existing mattress because buying a new one is cost prohibitive, you should consider the Lucid 2 Inch ventilated memory foam mattress topper. Adding the topper to your current sleep environment can actually give you most of the benefit of a brand new memory foam mattress, which allows you to extend the life of your existing mattress.
The Lucid memory foam topper creates a sleep space that breathes new life into an old mattress. Over time, your mattress may have stopped supporting the proper alignment of your spine (or may never have provided the type of contouring that memory foam allows), leading to back and neck pain. Adding the memory foam topper from Lucid gives you the support you need to achieve a better, more comfortable sleep that is more satisfying and restful.
If you are considering purchasing a new bed soon, you may want to skip out on the mattress topper. If your traditional spring mattress is so old it has several shot springs, this mattress topper may not be enough to provide a solid night’s sleep (but then, no mattress topper would likely be able to rectify that situation).
Also, if you want the added support but don’t need a cooler sleep space, you may want to look into a memory foam topper that doesn’t incorporate ventilation for more breathability and temperature regulation (if only because you might save a few dollars). However, if you sleep hot or suffer from night sweats as well as needing better support and nighttime alignment, you’ll find that the Lucid topper is a simple, cost effective solution.
Pros
Cons
If your bed is starting to sag, has become lumpy or unsupportive, or has springs that are sprung (but not any that stick straight into your back), it may be time to consider getting a new mattress. On the other hand, you can put off the task of searching for a new mattress and the expense of ordering one by adding a mattress topper that takes away the aches and pains your current mattress has started to cause. The Lucid 2 inch ventilated memory foam mattress topper helps relieve the issues of a mattress reaching the end of its life. Of course, it’s a great solution for any newer mattress that has turned out to be a little firmer than expected as well.
The Lucid mattress topper is 2 inches thick, adding enough soft support to renew your mattress for a while. It’s also not so thick that it’s difficult to fit in your existing sheets (unless you have a super-thick mattress already). These two inches of memory foam are also great for softening up a mattress that turned out to be a bit too firm, retaining the support you need while allowing for some soft contouring to help keep you properly aligned during a peaceful slumber.
Lucid has used premium memory foam material that incorporates open cell technology. The open cells prevent the memory foam from holding a lasting impression from constant use and sleep patterns. This product is certified for safety and performance by CertiPUR-US, an independent laboratory that checks content, performance, emissions, and eco-friendly construction. The construction of the memory foam also incorporates ventilation that adds a cooling feature, so you don’t sleep too hot, as with some memory foam products.
The Lucid 2 inch memory foam bed topper is ventilated, unlike some other toppers on the market. This is a cooling feature, allowing a greater amount of airflow through the material so that heat can escape. What this means is that, if you sleep hot or have problems with night sweats, you may be a little cautious about sleeping on memory foam, which typically increases the symptoms of this problem.
However, the Lucid mattress topper lets heat escape so that your sleep environment stays cooler and allows you a more comfortable, restful slumber. While it doesn’t use cooling gel or other newer technology, the mattress topper is also thin enough that the airflow pockets and patterns work to keep it comfortable.
The Lucid 2 inch memory foam bed pad comes in a vast array of sizes to meet needs for almost any situation. In fact, I’ve never seen so many options with any other foam topper, which makes this a really great option in my book. Not only do you get the standard sizes (twin, full, queen, king, and California king), but you have the option of twin XL, full XL, and a short queen (or RV sized) for campers and recreational vehicles. There is also the wider Olympic queen size. Dimensions are as follows:
Considering the cost of replacing your mattress, the Lucid mattress topper is pennies by comparison. It’s reasonably priced at any size, and it can extend the life of your mattress for 2-3 years, which helps you save for a new mattress. Keep in mind that, if you don’t currently have sheets with deep enough pockets, you may also have to invest in new sheets. In addition, if you don’t have a mattress cover or pad, you should get one to assure no harm comes to the mattress topper.
The product is extremely light, the queen sized bed topper weighing only 2.2 pounds, so it’s easy to lift and set up in your bedroom. It’s a one-person job, and once you’ve taken just a few minutes to lay it out and adjust it to the proper spot, it only takes a couple of hours to fully inflate and de-gas (there is very little odor associated with it, either). That’s much easier than trying to install a new mattress, especially if your current mattress has led to you currently having back, hip, leg, and neck pain. It’s a one-person job!
Because you cannot launder the memory foam bed topper, it is recommended that you include it inside a mattress cover or beneath a mattress pad that helps protect it against spills, burns, and any other damage it could incur. While there is a warranty, the warranty does not cover this sort of damage. Using a mattress protector can assist in maintaining the integrity of both the mattress topper and the mattress underneath (especially important if the mattress is new and you want to preserve the warranty).
The Lucid product comes with a full 3 year warranty that covers any manufacturer defects, abnormal wear and tear (not due to poor quality care), and similar issues. While it isn’t the longest warranty on the market, it’s good enough, considering the purpose of the mattress topper. The warranty does not cover damage caused by mistreatment, including burns, stains, tears, and damage from attempts at laundering, so be sure to use some sort of protector to extend the life of the mattress topper.
If you aren’t ready to give up the mattress you’ve become accustomed to because you don’t like change (or don’t want the added expense), or you’re not impressed with the overly firm mattress you just purchased, the Lucid 2 inch ventilated memory foam mattress topper is a great alternative.
While it might not offer total relief, depending on the actual condition of your mattress, it can certainly make almost any mattress temporarily sleepable again! And if you’d like to check out the Lucid for yourself, click below!
