Today, we like to refer to vacuum packed mattresses as a “bed in a box”, because that’s what they are. They are rolled up and packed away in a box and sent directly to you. Unfortunately, not all of these companies are the ideal people to work with and not all of their mattresses can qualify as the best bed in a box. This is where the company BedInABox came from. Memory foam is my personal favorite, and not just because I love how I feel on them. Memory foam was first used in the mid 1960’s for airplane seats for NASA and is made from a substance called viscoelastic. It’s very soft, absorbent, cradles the body well, and it can be infused with gel to keep you cool while you’re sleeping.
It works by molding itself to the body in response to heat and pressure while evenly distributing body weight. When you lay on one of these mattresses, the heat from your body will soften that part of the bed, helping to support your body along those natural lines and curves. This is a huge pain relieving aid and can also help keep the spine in a natural alignment, depending on how firm your mattress is. People with back pain should be sleeping on a medium-firm mattress rather than a really soft or firm one.
If you are a sufferer of night sweats or you tend to overheat at night while you’re sleeping, memory foam with gel infused in it would be an ideal option, which is rarely found in plain innerspring mattresses. This gel helps keep your body cool, especially Outlast Technology.
Innerspring

Firmness

In my personal opinion, an eco-friendly mattress is nice. If my bed is made with materials that aren’t going to harm the earth, I can feel rest assured that they aren’t going to harm my body either. You can usually find a CertiPUR-US Certified label on mattresses that are low in VOC’s or are low in harmful chemicals.
Warranty
A warranty can say a lot about a company. If a company doesn’t offer a warranty ot they offer only a 1-year warranty, they probably aren’t going to stand by their product or they know they don’t have a good product. This foam works hand in hand with the CoolRest gel memory foam to help correctly align the spine and support your entire body the way it should be while you sleep. In total, this bed is 11” tall with a firm and supportive feel.

The Serenity is BedInABox-es most advanced memory foam mattress. It features a temperature regulating CoolRest adaptive cover that helps absorb excess heat when you are starting to become too warm and it will give it back to you when you get too cold. This cover is built to help you sleep more comfortably cool in the summer and warmer in the winters.
The next layer inside of this bed is the 3” CoolRest gel memory foam. This helps in tandem with the cover to sleep cooler and it provides you with pressure relief. This layer cradles your body for a supportive feel while remaining soft and comfortable and reducing motion transfer. Inside of this layer is also an open cell structure for added airflow for cooler sleeping.

Adagio Hybrid
The Adagio Hybrid is a mix between traditional innerspring and soft memory foam. Not only that, but this mattress is completely flippable! That has to be one of my favorite features out of all of the mattresses on this list. This is a multi-comfort mattress that contains individually wrapped coils and layers of foam that allow you to experience two distinct feelings between the sides.
On the medium side you have 1” of PurResponse foam with CoolRest adaptive finish for pressure relief, 1” of AirRest adaptive slower-recovery comfort foam for even more pressure relief that cradles and supports the body, two 1” layers of Sure Align support foam for spinal alignment, and each of the individually wrapped coils allow for ease of movement and increased air flow.
On the firm side there’s a soft knit breathable cover, 1” of firming foam for extra support, and 1” of Sure Align support foam that works with the zoned coils for a supportive feel and easy movement. The total height of this mattress is 13” tall with a medium soft feel on one side and a firm feel on the other.

On the firm side it starts with the breathable silk blend cover followed by 1” of firming foam that’s quilted into the cover for an extra support for those who like a more firm feel. In total, this is a 14” medium on one side and firm on the other side.

Conclusion
Okay, I was hoping that all the mattresses that were available were going to be generally affordable, but they aren’t and it’s kind of disappointing. After carefully reviewing all of the beds that BedInABox has available, I would have to say that the Tranquility would rank the highest. The other mattresses had reports of back pain issues, which is something that we don’t look for. This bed may be higher up in the price range, but it doesn’t lack in edge support, it keeps you cool, and there have been reports of superior joint pain relief. So, if you don’t mind shelling out the extra few hundred dollars, this would definitely be more beneficial for you.
