Which Is The Best BedInABox Bed?

Today, we like to refer to vacuum packed mattresses as a “bed in a box”, because that’s what they are. They are rolled up and packed away in a box and sent directly to you. Unfortunately, not all of these companies are the ideal people to work with and not all of their mattresses can qualify as the best bed in a box. This is where the company BedInABox came from. They are an actual company that is dedicated to bringing you the best mattress that you can possibly get at a price you can afford.

What Is BedInABox?

BedInABox is a company that makes a quality product right here in America. They have spent just a few years creating a mattress with innovative foams that are durable and that outlasts the older types of foams that are still floating out there on the market. They are all pressure mapped to ensure maximum comfort and they are determined to offer a quality bed that may help improve your time spent in bed, which can help improve your overall well being and health.

Why American?

A lot of people think that it’s cheaper to make and buy from overseas-this is not true. BedInABox chooses to deal with American suppliers to ensure cheaper imported foam that tends to be inconsistently poured and unregulated, leading to problems with craftsmanship and defects. All of their products are sent to independent labs to ensure that they are skin friendly and they they do not contain any harmful chemicals.

Affordability

They also use the most efficient means necessary to package, assemble, and process orders, meaning you won’t get charged for their extra costs. They constantly strive to improve their systems and methods so that your wallet isn’t suffering when you want to purchase a product from them.

Since they cut out the middleman, expensive commissions to salesmen, freight, and tv marketing campaigns, they don’t have to charge you an arm and a leg for a high-quality mattress. Their unique packaging allows for them to ship the bed to your home quickly and without added costs directly from their facility.

Available MattressTypes

The BedInABox company has two types of mattresses available-innerspring and memory foam. These are two very different types of mattress, both with their difference and similarities.

Memory Foam

Memory foam is my personal favorite, and not just because I love how I feel on them. Memory foam was first used in the mid 1960’s for airplane seats for NASA and is made from a substance called viscoelastic. It’s very soft, absorbent, cradles the body well, and it can be infused with gel to keep you cool while you’re sleeping.

It works by molding itself to the body in response to heat and pressure while evenly distributing body weight. When you lay on one of these mattresses, the heat from your body will soften that part of the bed, helping to support your body along those natural lines and curves. This is a huge pain relieving aid and can also help keep the spine in a natural alignment, depending on how firm your mattress is. People with back pain should be sleeping on a medium-firm mattress rather than a really soft or firm one.

If you are a sufferer of night sweats or you tend to overheat at night while you’re sleeping, memory foam with gel infused in it would be an ideal option, which is rarely found in plain innerspring mattresses. This gel helps keep your body cool, especially Outlast Technology.

Innerspring

Innerspring mattresses are widely available, very popular, and extremely affordable, which is why they are in such high demand. Since they have been around for so long and had so much time to develop, the prices keep falling and more people tend to lean towards whatever is cheaper in price.

Spring mattresses, if properly constructed, can last a very long time, offering years and years of durability and stability. They may keep their shape for quite a few years, but if the mattress you choose is on the cheaper side with thinner gauge coils, it’s not going to give you as much useage as one with a higher gauge coil.

Spring beds also aren’t great for supporting your body like memory foam mattresses are. They tend to put pressure on the hips, shoulders and feet more than any other areas in the body. They don’t contour as well as foam does, making them less likely to decrease pressure points.

Also, with these beds come dust mites and other gross critters. Because of hose they are built, there are underlying layers of wool and fiber that make the ideal home for allergens. They can develop without being disturbed and cleaning these mattresses are virtually impossible. The other undesirable characteristic of these beds is that movements are distributed throughout the whole surface because of the springs.

What Makes A Good BedInABox?

There are quite a few defining characteristics of these beds that can qualify them as being “good”.

Durability

First, they need to have a great durability factor. If they aren’t durable, they aren’t going to last and you’ll find yourself shelling out even more money for another mattress that you shouldn’t need to. The one way you can determine whether or not they are going to be durable is based on their density. Generally, the higher the density, the more durable the foam is.

Firmness

The firmness should also be at an ideal level. If it’s too firm, it’s going to feel as if you’re sleeping on a slab of stone. If it’s too soft, you’ll get that quicksand feeling and you won’t have the support that your body needs to get proper rest and pressure relief. You want something in the medium-firm area, especially if you’re looking for pain relief.

Eco-Friendly

In my personal opinion, an eco-friendly mattress is nice. If my bed is made with materials that aren’t going to harm the earth, I can feel rest assured that they aren’t going to harm my body either. You can usually find a CertiPUR-US Certified label on mattresses that are low in VOC’s or are low in harmful chemicals.

Warranty

A warranty can say a lot about a company. If a company doesn’t offer a warranty ot they offer only a 1-year warranty, they probably aren’t going to stand by their product or they know they don’t have a good product. BedInABox offers a 20-year warranty, which is great. This is an average warranty range and with their warranty you are guaranteed a replacement or repair if it’s the fault of workmanship or manufacturer defects for the first 10 years.

Adagio Hybrid Bed In A Box

The Adagio Hybrid is a mix between traditional innerspring and soft memory foam. Not only that, but this mattress is completely flippable! That has to be one of my favorite features out of all of the mattresses on this list. This is a multi-comfort mattress that contains individually wrapped coils and layers of foam that allow you to experience two distinct feelings between the sides.

On the medium side you have 1” of PurResponse foam with CoolRest adaptive finish for pressure relief, 1” of AirRest adaptive slower-recovery comfort foam for even more pressure relief that cradles and supports the body, two 1” layers of Sure Align support foam for spinal alignment, and each of the individually wrapped coils allow for ease of movement and increased air flow.

On the firm side there’s a soft knit breathable cover, 1” of firming foam for extra support, and 1” of Sure Align support foam that works with the zoned coils for a supportive feel and easy movement. The total height of this mattress is 13” tall with a medium soft feel on one side and a firm feel on the other.

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Sleeps cool
  • Good quality
  • Flippable
  • Supportive

Cons

  • Complaints of back pain
  • Both sides too soft
I would recommend this mattress for those looking for an interchangeable innerspring feel.

Silk Symphony

  • 105 pounds
  • 80 x 60 x 14  inches
  • Medium soft/firm
  • Memory foam/cooling gel
  • 120 night trial
  • 20 year warranty
Silk Symphony

If you want luxury in a mattress, the Silk Symphony is where it’s at. This multi-comfort mattress has two different sides for two different feels-medium and firm. As your body changes, the mattress has the ability to change with you. They define this mattress as the ultimate in luxury and versatility.

The medium feel side starts off with an elegant silk blended cover with 2.5 layers of quilting foam to help draw moisture away. The first layer of foam is 3” of CoolRest Gel memory foam that provides pressure relief and cradles your body for a soft and supportive feel while reducing motion transfer. The last layer is 8” of 2.4 pound density Sure Align support foam that works with the CoolRest gel foam to support and align your spine the way it should be.

On the firm side it starts with the breathable silk blend cover followed by 1” of firming foam that’s quilted into the cover for an extra support for those who like a more firm feel. The last layer is 8” of 2.4 pound density Sure Align support foam that works with the CoolRest gel memory foam to align the spine the right way. In total, this is a 14” medium on one side and firm on the other side.

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Flippable
  • Fewer aches and pains
  • No odor
  • No motion transfer

Cons

  • Reports of back pain
I would recommend this mattress for those looking for an interchangeable feel.

Conclusion

Okay, I was hoping that all the mattresses that were available were going to be generally affordable, but they aren’t and it’s kind of disappointing. After carefully reviewing all of the beds that BedInABox has available, I would have to say that the Tranquility would rank the highest. The other mattresses had reports of back pain issues, which is something that we don’t look for. This bed may be higher up in the price range, but it doesn’t lack in edge support, it keeps you cool, and there have been reports of superior joint pain relief. So, if you don’t mind shelling out the extra few hundred dollars, this would definitely be more beneficial for you.
