The comfort of a sleeping child is one of the most important things to me as a mom. If my child is uncomfortable, then I am uncomfortable, mostly because they cry and scream all night. If your child doesn’t have a comfortable crib mattress, how are they suppose to sleep well?
Over the past 6 years, I have done my share of research when it came to the best crib mattress for my child. After everything was said and done, I always ended up with the top rated crib mattress on the market and for me, the price was nothing in comparison to the safety of my baby.

When you lay your child down to sleep you never want to second think the safety of their mattress. I have personally never had to deal with it, but with the US rate of 4,000 deaths per year from SIDS, I do often think about it and always rethink my mattress choice. You may think that the mattress your baby is sleeping on is not comfortable enough for them so you decide to add a little more plush to it with a blanket or something else of the sort. The reason I say this is because I made that mistake with my first born. Right off the bat, this mattress caught my attention by being adhesive, lead, TRIS, phthalates, and toxic flame retardant free. If I am looking for something that is going to be safe for my baby, this would be it. The fact that it doesn’t have harmful chemicals in it is a great feature. Its hypoallergenic construction makes it even more appealing and much more safe for an infant.
If you need added reassurance, this mattress also has a triple-laminated waterproof cover for protection from leaks and moisture. It also has a six full inches of flat, firm foam for baby’s comfort. To me, nothing is more important than the comfort of my child. Knowing that they are on a safe sleeping surface keeps my mind at ease so I can sleep at night as well.
Unfortunately, the only catch to this mattress is that it only fits into one of the MDB family cribs. This isn’t to say that it can’t possibly fit into another crib, but it has only been used and is recommended for those types of cribs. It would be best to measure your crib and get the measurements for the mattress to ensure a proper fit.

The Best One Is..
After carefully reading the reviews and thinking about what I would want for my own child, I have come to the conclusion that the best crib mattress would have to be the Simmons Kids Beautyrest Beginnings Sleepy Whispers Ultra Deluxe 2 in 1 Crib and Toddler Mattress.
I chose this mattress because for starters, it is 2-in-1 which will save you money in the long run. For two, it has excellent GREEN ratings backed by a lifetime limited warranty. The fact that my baby would be sleeping on something that is backed by its maker instead of a cheap product that had no warranty would be more than convincing enough for me. Not to mention, this mattress is made by a well known company and not someone who is just in it for the money with no real name.
